What does it mean to be a Pineapple Teacher? A Pineapple Teacher is a teacher who is proud of something either new (s)he is trying or a strategy s(he) has mastered and is willing to open his/her classroom to be observed by other teachers.
How can I be a part of this Pineapple Teacher movement? Observing Teacher: There is no minimum or maximum to how many teachers you observe (but the more you observe, the more chance for winning so keep reading). Since each Pineapple Teacher can only accommodate up to 3 observers per class period, a paper sign-up sheet will be posted outside a Pineapple Teacher’s room 2 days prior to his/her actual session for you to sign up to be an observing teacher. So what is new this year? Each month (starting in November), there will be a raffle drawing. Here is how it works. If you are opening up your classroom for others to observe your lesson, you will receive 3 raffle tickets per class period. If you observe other teachers, you will receive 2 raffle tickets each time you observe other teachers’ classes. At the end of each month, there will be a drawing for prizes. The raffle will start over each month. |
